Using the power of cricket to support girls’ health, confidence, and opportunity across Uganda.

Bat For a Chance is proud to have supported an exciting partnership alongside @cricketwithoutboundaries and @lacunasportsuk that combines cricket with vital women’s health education for young girls across Uganda.

This pioneering programme is designed to empower adolescent girls aged 14–20 through a blend of sport, mentorship, and education around menstrual and breast health, helping break down barriers that too often prevent girls from participating fully in sport and everyday life.

Phase 1 of the project focused on communities in Jinja, Soroti, and Lugazi, where local coaches and national team players led cricket and health camps for female cricketers. By combining trusted local coaches, role models from the national team, and the unifying power of sport, this project aims to create safe spaces where young women can build confidence, stay active, and access important health education with dignity.

We are very happy to have been able to to be part of a project using cricket not just as a game, but as a platform for education, empowerment, and lasting social impact.
